Hello, I’ve recently discovered Hawkwind and this site has been a great resource for listening to the concerts. I particularly enjoy the 1984-1985 concerts.
Is it possible to upload in lossless too?
I don’t have a lot of Hawkwind to trade as you might have guessed, but I have the Hawk Logs 16xCDr in flac. Also I have a lot of other psychedelic rock groups bootlegs if you are interested, mainly from Japan.
Thank you very much for your work.

    • nicky72

Hello mate, sorry all downloads are MP3 i have a facebook page you can join were you can request lossless formats and discuss gigs etc we also have master series logs. Glad your enjoying the site the facebook group is of the same name Hawkwind bootleg emporium 😉

  2. ejobson

  3. lokaopa

Thanks for letting us in. Looks great.

  4. hawkmoon

just grabbed quite a few , looking forward to going through them . I’ll share those i master up .

  5. rangoon76

Hi, Nicky 72. Greetings from a long time Hawkwind fan. I`ve got a soundboard recording of the Glastonbury 1981 gig. It`s a good deal cleaner-sounding than the bootleg you`ve already got posted, but it`s minus Brainstorm. If you are interested, reply with details of how to upload it. Cheers!

  6. Vorrn

Hi All, I’ve found a little error amongst the downloads! “1975-01-26 Edmonton Download ZIP 20 files total” should read “1974” not 1975 see Starfarer’s Gig & Set Lists for the two years in question. Vorrn

  7. satsuma

    Hello!

This is a wonderful site, thank you to all who have put the work in to create it. Many happy hours of listening ahead!

    • nicky72

Thanks Jon, means a lot, i have lots more recordings to add yet just finding the time ! Keep checking in from time to time .

  8. disipel5mg

Is it just me ? I haven’t been able to download anything on this site for at least the last month. Problems seemed to have started since the 1990 gigs went up. Nobody else has mentioned anything.

    • oldhawk

No probs here, everything’s ok … hmm?

    • nicky72

no issues this end mate, as oldhawk says hes having no issues either , not had anyone on our group with any aswell mate sorry and hope you get it sorted.

    • The Odd Duck

      Are you still getting issues?
      Can I be of assistance?

      • disipel5mg

All ok now thanks. I had to download firefox and an extension called no script with some allowances to make things work. Maybe an xp problem with Java.

        • The Odd Duck

Interesting! what were you using before? – It would be good for me to learn what was causing the problems so I can try and stop other users getting them in the future.

Glad all is okay now for you though!

          • disipel5mg

I was running an XP computer and using internet explorer. There were script/compatability errors on the page that were reset before going any futher. I also find that the page layout was different using I.E.
All of the gigs had circles to the left going round. I could click the gig title to see track listing, and then start a download, but it would never complete or allow me to playback what had .tried to download.
I’ve just bought a new computer that works fab, although I downloaded 1 song as a test yesterday which took 5 minutes,strange..

          • The Odd Duck

Interesting it took so long, it doesn’t usually for me.

It does depend on a few things, like your connection/contention, the sites contention/bandwidth, and so on.. but 5 minutes for one song still seems a bit slow. I would expect it to be 5 minutes per large zip file.

I will have a look in to it, I may have to look in to upgrading the server if we are starting to get slow downs like this.

Glad the new PC is working for you… I will try different version of IE on Win 7 & Win 8 and use “edge” on win 10..

Although one thing I would say for any user anywhere… stay away from microsofts browsers… Firefox and Chrome are so much better…

  9. Corum

Re Edinburgh 2009 gig venue was Picture House not Playhouse as listed.

    HAWKWIND
    LONDON, LYCEUM BALLROOM, UK
    20.July.1980,

You wanted full version of this concert. I’ve got my own ‘audience’ copy which I’m happy to upload – but how? I don’t see an upload button. The quality isn’t great and is mono (I was poor in those days – it was recorded on a cheap cassette player/recorder probably with the limiter on), but it is all there. If you (or someone you know) can clean it up, treat it to false stereo etc., please do, but I want a copy!

    Vorrn

    • nicky72

Hi Vorn,i would love a copy of this recording you have please mate! Can you use dropbox? Its pretty confusing how to upload to this site so if u have dropbox you could upload it then send me the link and I will share it on here and I will also get someone to remaster it.If possible can you send it in WAV or FLAC to keep the quality as good as possible. If you don’t have dropbox we will look at uploading it to this site.

      • Vorrn

never heard of ‘dropbox’ – never uploaded before but note things like YouTube have upload buttons. Vorrn

        • nicky72

Hi Vorrn, dropbox is very easy to use,its as easy as youtube but quicker to upload to!Its free just google dropbox and follow the instructions or I can email u a link to download the the dropbox software,i run a group on fb with the same name as this site, but we use dropbox to share well worth getting on mate and if ur on fb then join our group.Nicky

          • Vorrn

Hi Nicky, been ‘off the air’ for the last month due to major upheavals in my life. Please send me the link for dropbox and I’ll see what I can do. Vorrn

    • nicky72

How long is the full concert by the way mate?

      • Vorrn

Divided into 2 parts 1st 47:46, 2nd 40:46 (88:36) I don’t have a full set list (I don’t know the names of all the tracks) but it does include Nati. Vorrn

    • nicky72

A great site, many thanks for taking the time to get this off the ground Nicky – you are a credit to Hawkwind fans everywhere – this band have always been special to me and bootlegs are a large part of that – due to the rolling nature of the line ups and the sheer volume of shows there is always something unusual, something unexpected in these recordings – thanks again!

  30. PXR5

Ah, the unique sound, energy and atmosphere of those ’79 – ’80 gigs, utter bliss.
Simon King is playing like a man possessed, Blake’s Crystal Machine is ethereal, perfectly toned and sublime never bettered, Huwie’s style is fresh, incredible, melodic, mindblowing and innovative, Bainbridge just where he should be on harmonic vocal support and clever Ricky bass, and Brock perfect – leading from the front vocally, solid strong rhythm guitar sound & technique and analogue synth-space-heaven. My all-time fav line-up and setlist captured on the best bootlegs know to man, beast or musicnaut, wow.
I’ve been waiting 35 years for this… many many many thanks guys 🙂 🙂 🙂
